Levi not well

Well it looks like Levi are oldest peke, is coming to the end and we will in the not to distant future have to make that very hard decision.

A little history on Levi. We rescued Levi 5 half years ago through Pekingese Rescue. He was in a bad way, had rotten teeth, was under weight and we found out from the vet that he had a broken jaw. The vet said that this was at least 3 years old and to try and fix it would be too much for him. Luckily (if you can call it luck) the brake he has is on the side and is at an angle so the vet said it more like having tooth ache than anything else. And with pain killers he's been okay, you can always tell when he's in pain as he has his head to one side.

He is old now we've worked out that he's 13/14 years old but with the bad jaw the other damage that was also done has shown up over the passed 12 months with the loss of sight in his right eye, his sense of smell is also almost gone. He's also now in pain all the time, we have spoken with the vet and he's agreed that as long as the pain killers are working and he's happy then lets let him carry on. But we've all agreed that when he gets worse then that is the time, to say enough, it not fare on him. We've notice over the passed few weeks that he's sleeping very deeply, he's that relaxed that he's floppy. He's frighten me a few times as I thought he had passed away, and to be honest this is how I want him to go in his sleep. It as hard time for us, but we just love him all the more knowing that he's not got that much time left.

Frist time

Well this is my first every blog. I live in the UK and make handmade cards for friends & family. Over the coming weeks I will post some pictures.

That's it for now.
